Route 91 Harvest Festival 遭「孤狼式」攻擊,超過50人死亡近500人受傷
美國拉斯維加斯知名音樂盛會《Route 91 Harvest Festival》在上週末舉辦連續3天的音樂活動;在當地時間10月1日晚間約10點左右,歌手 Jason Aldean 正在舞台上演唱,忽然間夾雜著疑似機關槍的聲響,起初現場的遊客還認為這可能是歌曲的音效,直到有人倒地,現場樂迷才驚覺這是一場襲擊事件。
這場槍擊案是繼911恐怖攻擊之後,最嚴重的死傷事件。根據外媒的報導,犯案的槍手是名64歲的白人 Stephen Paddock,他從一旁的曼德勒灣酒店〈Mandalay Bay hotel〉32樓的房間朝下方的活動會場開槍,並以彈鏈的方式連續射擊,造成58人死亡,500人受傷;一名目擊者告訴 MSNBC:「現場突然聽到像是鞭炮的聲音,越聽越發現這個聲音不對勁,隨後人們開始尖叫逃跑,還有人大喊趕快趴下,我們面對著不知從何而來的槍聲,完全不知道該怎麼辦」。
另外一名目擊者向洛杉磯時報〈Los Angeles Times〉表示:「當槍聲結束後,我爬起來,看到有些人全身是血地躺在地上一動也不動,我彷彿置身在地獄一樣,我不知道我眼前的人是死是活,我只知道我現在應該趕快跑」。
現場在傳出槍響之後,負責維安的警察立刻回報上級,很快的反恐小組以及特警小組來到現場,他們鎖定了一旁的曼德勒灣酒店〈Mandalay Bay hotel〉,並且依照目擊者所看到的火光斷定是位於32樓的房間,警方在破門而入之前還先警告要 Stephen Paddock 棄械投降,在警告無效後強行進入房間時,發現犯案人已經飲彈自盡,警方在房間內搜出了數把步槍,以及不少在戰場上才會看到的機槍彈鏈,Stephen Paddock 在射殺音樂活動的遊客時也是用此彈鏈進行射擊。
事件發生後,「伊斯蘭國」表示此案是他們所為,相關當局已經把這起「孤狼式」攻擊定調為恐怖攻擊。
消息傳出後,不少音樂人紛紛在 Twitter 表示哀悼,嚴厲譴責這類的恐怖攻擊,至於在拉斯維加斯的部分夜店以及賭場都因為這起事件緊急宣布關閉。
